Wine

Being in Auburn's Hospitality Program, I have a greater appreciation for wine. In the Beverage Appreciation class, I learned how the history and geography influence the taste of the wine.  Learning about the differentiation between the regions was fascinating. Food and wine pairing is so important, especially since the flavors should compliment each other.  Due to COVID restrictions, I was chosen from a competitive selection process to have a digital experience with the Trinchero Family Estates. I am preparing to take the Certified Specialist of Wine Exam this year. I know my passion for food with wine will help create a better dining experience for guests, and it will create other opportunities within the hospitality industry.

Travel

The best way to learn about another culture is complete immersion. I have always loved travelling to other places. Since I was a kid, travelling was always an exciting experience, especially tasting local food. Food is such a universal language that transfers so much with no words. Travelling allows the opportunity to experience authentic cuisine, and it creates a deeper understanding of another culture. I would love to travel more and connect to more people.
